From Ujjain to Pan-India: Our Decade-Long Journey in Hotel Revenue Management

As I reflect on our journey this evening in July 2025, it’s incredible to think that Travinities began over a decade ago with a simple observation right here in our home city of Ujjain.

We saw passionate hoteliers, people who had poured their hearts into creating beautiful properties with exceptional service, struggling to compete in the new and confusing digital world. They were masters of hospitality, but the complexities of OTAs, online rankings, and dynamic pricing were holding them back.

We didn’t just see a business opportunity; we saw a community of entrepreneurs who deserved a better way to grow. That was the spark that started it all.

Our Founding Philosophy: “Thinking Like Owners”

From the very beginning, we knew we couldn’t be just another “vendor.” The hoteliers we admired were owners—people who felt every booking, every review, every success, and every failure personally. To truly help them, we had to adopt the same mindset.

“Thinking like owners” became our guiding principle. It meant that their success was our success. Their challenges were our challenges. This philosophy forced us to go beyond simple services and build true, lasting partnerships. It’s a value that remains at the core of our company today and is the reason we’ve been able to build a legacy of trust.

Scaling with Technology, Leading with People
As we grew beyond Madhya Pradesh and began partnering with hotels across the country, we embraced technology. We integrated sophisticated tools for dynamic pricing, channel management, and performance analytics. We knew that to compete on a national level, our partners needed access to the same cutting-edge technology as the big international chains.

But we made a promise to ourselves: technology would always be a tool to empower our strategy, not a replacement for our expertise. While our software analyzes millions of data points, it’s our team of expert revenue managers who interpret that data. It’s our content strategists who craft your hotel’s story. It’s our COO, Pooja, who ensures every partner has a direct line to our leadership. This blend of high-tech and high-touch is what has allowed us to scale our results effectively.

Three Lessons from Over 2000 Hotel Partnerships

A decade of work teaches you a lot. Here are three truths that have been proven time and again across every hotel we’ve worked with:

  1. Every Market is Unique: A strategy that works in a leisure destination like Goa won’t work for a business hotel in Delhi or a pilgrimage city like Ujjain. True success comes from custom strategies, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
  2. Data Tells a Story, but People Make Decisions: Analytics are crucial, but they don’t capture the whole picture. The best decisions come from combining powerful data with deep human expertise and industry experience.
  3. Trust is Built on Transparency: You cannot have a real partnership without open communication and honest reporting. Sharing both the wins and the challenges is the only way to build a relationship that lasts.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Indian Hospitality

The next decade will bring even more change—AI-driven personalization, a greater push for direct bookings, and new ways for guests to discover and experience travel. Our commitment at Travinities is to stay at the forefront of this evolution, ensuring our partners are always equipped not just to compete, but to lead.

Our journey from a local Ujjain company to a pan-India leader has been incredible, but the stories we are most proud of are those of our partners.

If you are ready to write the next chapter of your hotel’s success story, we would be honoured to be a part of it. Let’s connect and build it together.
